Frostproof, FL
57 deg clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 83 deg. partly cloudy, SE wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
Jim and Linda have been spending a lot of time visiting with Roland and Louise. Both Roland and Louise have had a few things to do during a couple of the days that we've been here, but they always get together for dinner. Sometimes over at their place and sometimes here.
Oh, and Roland always comes over here in the mornings for coffee and conversation, usually he and Jim end up sitting out under my awning, enjoying the morning sun. :-)
The weather has been great with highs in the upper 70's or low 80's. It was pretty windy a few days ago, but the rest of the days have been really nice.
The folks here in this park are very friendly. Lots of people have bicycles and as they ride by, many of them wave. Others walk or jog past and wave or say Hi.
Well, I guess that's about it. Nothing special happening except lots of visiting and catching up with some very good friends.
A Point to Ponder : Do ducks sneeze?

Rantoul To Indianapolis and A Visit With Mike And Sandy
Indianapolis, IN.
52 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 72 deg. mostly sunny, N. wins @ 5 to 10 mph.
It's amazing how 2 and a half hours and 134 miles can get rid of an itchy tire condition!! ;-) Yep, it was gone right after we left Rantoul at about 10:00.
There wasn't a whole lot for Jim and Linda to do before we left. Just put the last stuff away inside of me and unhook my electric cord and put it away. Then it was h and h with Paul and Louise and we were finally on our way. :-)
From Rantoul, we headed South on US 45 until we got to I-74, down by Urbana. Then we headed East on 74 and took it all the way to Indianapolis, where we tuned South on I-465. There was a lot of construction on 465, and a few spots on 74.
465 then brought us down to the South side of the city and to the Lake Haven RV Park.
The Lake Haven RV Park is nothing special. In fact in my opinion, it's way over priced, but it's the closest park to Linda's cousin's house so it's a convenient place for us to stay.
Once I got settled in and Jim and Linda both took little naps, they took CLT and headed over to Mike and Sandy's house for a visit.
It had been about an year since we had been here, so everyone had a lot to catch up on, so they all sat around the kitchen table and talked and talked. :-)
In the photo above, you can see Sandy, Linda and Mike catching up on what has happened.
After they had talked for awhile, everyone started getting hungry, so they took Mike's car and went to a Bob Evans Restaurant for dinner. Then they came back to the house and talked some more!!:-)
It was about 9:30 by the time CLT brought Jim and Linda back here to the CG. Then they watched TV and relaxed until bedtime.
Jim and Linda both said that it was really good to see Mike and Sandy again. For years, Linda had not seen Mike and had almost lost contact with him. If it hadn't been for this full-timing lifestyle, she probably wouldn't have been able to contact him and renew their relationship.
Oh, in response to the 2 comments I received on yesterdays blog,
Judy, sorry to hear about your problems. We just don't do well sitting around for long periods of time. All of our seals dry out and things corrode when we're not being used.
Jenny, I'm sorry but we won't be going through your area this fall. If you're going to the RV Dreams Rally next spring, Jim and Linda will see you there.
Did you know that David Letterman, host of television's "Late Show with David Letterman," was born April 12, 1947, in Indianapolis?

More About Talking, Heat and Storms, and That's Just Rude.
Rantoul, IL.
65 deg. partly cloudy, S. wind @ 8 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 92 deg. mostly sunny, humid, W. winds @ 10 to 15 mph. 20% chance of afternoon showers.
I received a couple of nice comments on yesterday's blog. Thanks.
I think that everyone needs to sit down and talk to their significant other about things you might want to do or don't want to do in you future. Or, if you're on your own, take time to really be honest with yourself and make sure you're doing, and are going to be doing what makes you happy. I've seem so many couples that don't seem to be able to communicate at all, and usually one of them is not a very happy camper. :-( Especially when you're traveling, it's important for both parties to agree on where, when and how to go, and where and when to stop.
It was pretty hot here yesterday, (I had 91 deg. on my thermometer at one time), so Jim and Linda didn't do much. Jim took a little bike ride in the morning, took the garbage down to the dumpster, talked to Louise for awhile, and put out my awnings.
The awning thing is getting to be a joke. Jim puts them out in the morning so that they shade me from the hot sun, but then in the afternoon, it storms so he has to roll them back up again. I know that some people leave them out all the time and tie them down, but Jim doesn't feel comfortable doing that, and just worries about them while they're out in a storm, so...... he does what he feels he has to do.
Speaking of that, yesterday afternoon, Jim cooked a couple of small steaks on his grill for dinner, and no more than he and Linda were done eating, the skies started looking black, so he went out rolled up the awnings. It's a good thing he did because within about 10 minutes we had some really strong gusts of wind and lots of rain again.
In fact, I just checked Jim's rain gauge and we had another 1.6 inches of rain yesterday and last night.
Oh, do you remember me telling you that there were 20 or so RVs coming into the park this weekend for a Rally? Well, they didn't show up!!!! Yep, you read that right. No phone call or anything. They just didn't show up!!!! Can you imagine scheduling a rally at a CG, (even a small rally), and then not showing up or calling the CG to tell them that you changed plans???
How rude is that!!!! Needless to say, Louise was quite upset with the group, and I doubt if she'll ever agree to have them back again.
I'm sure that all of you are aware that Sunday is Father's Day, and you want to get good old dad a present, but did you know that there are more than 14,000 hardware stores and over 23,000 sporting goods stores where you can get him that perfect gift?

A Quiet Day, Laundry, Conservation and Getting Ready To Travel
Avon, NC
56 deg. clear, S. wind @ 8 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 68 deg. mostly sunny, NW wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
It was kind of quiet around here yesterday. Jim and Linda didn't go anywhere, and nothing special happened.
Jim was up early as usual, checking on all the blogs he follows and adding his 2 cents to a couple of forums he visits. By 9:00 he was outside, checking my tires, filling my water tank, and checking my fluid levels so I'd be ready to travel to Virginia Beach today.
After Linda got up, she sorted out the clothes in the hamper and started a load of laundry in my washer/dryer. By the time she was done with breakfast and her normal morning chores, the washer was done washing and had just started to dry the clothes. Being that the weather was nice, (it didn't start raining until late afternoon), she took the clothes outside and hung them on the clothes rack that was still out from the other day, and then came back in and started washing a second load.
The reason for getting all the laundry done before we go to Virginia Beach, is that once we get there, the only hook-up I will have is 20 amp electric. No water, and no sewer, although in the past, Jim has run a water hose into the house to get some more water to refill my fresh water tank. The 20 amp circuit has been added just for me, so I don't have to be concerned about other items in the house using some of the power, but since I'm designed to operate on 50 amps, I'll have to be real careful with my power usage. Also, since the plan is to stay there for 2 weeks, water conservation will be a must too. Yeah, I know I just said that Jim can run a hose into the house to get more water, but that's not the problem. The problem is that my black and gray water tanks get full if too much water is used, and there's no place to dump them.
So, Jim will turn off the electric to my water heater and run it on propane, switch the refrigerator to propane, and turn off and unplug anything else that uses electric, but is not needed. By doing this, there will be enough power to run one electric heater or one air conditioner, keep my batteries charged and my interior lights working. The water usage can be controlled somewhat by using some of the facilities in the house when possible, and being very conservative when using water from my tank.
We've done this quite a few times in the past, so I know it will work, but my gray and black water tanks will be completely full by the end of the 2 weeks. :-)
So, this morning Jim will dump my tanks and then he and Linda will finish getting me ready to travel. Jim said that he would like to get out of here by about 10:00. It's about 135 miles from here to Joe's house, but we'll have some areas to go through where there will be lower speed limits and possible heavy traffic, so it may not be a real quick trip.
That's OK though, I know I'll have a place to park tonight, no matter when we get there. ;-)
