About 10:00 yesterday Jim and Linda made it official. They went into the office at R & S and paid for Emrys. He's now theirs and I belong to R & S, at least temporally.
In the afternoon, the last items were moved from me into Emrys. Then Jim brought Justin, (the head mechanic), into me and did a kind of walk-thru so that he knew how all my systems worked. Then he and Jim went into Emrys and Justin showed Jim how everything worked in him.
Jim says there are a lot of neat things about Emrys but that I have some features that he doesn't have.
It was soon after that that both Jim and Linda came and said good-bye to me. I don't know for sure, but I think there were tears in both of their eyes. Linda told me not to worry because she was sure I'd find a new owner soon and would be back on the road again. Jim didn't say much but gave me a pat on my side as he walked away.
It's been good being owned by them for the last 6 years. We've gone some great places and seen some great things. Oh, we've had our problems but there wasn't anything that couldn't be worked out.
Now both myself and Jim and Linda are about to start in a new journey. Mine, I'm sure, will be at a slower pace, but Jim and Linda's will stay about the same, only with a newer, larger MH that will be more comfortable to live in.
Oh, and about this blog. Emrys said that he's willing to give it a try but it may take a little while before he makes his first post because he's not sure about what he's doing. He also doesn't know about starting a new blog, so I told him to just go ahead and post on this one for the time being until he gets more familiar with it.
About 2:45 Justin pulled Emrys out of the shop and took him around to the front of the building where CLT was waiting for him. Then, after hooking CLT up to him and checking all the lights, Jim and Linda were ready to leave.
It was kind of sad seeing them drive away in Emrys. I'll miss them both very much. :-(
But, enough of that!! I'm about to start a new adventure!!! Yep, I'm sure it won't be long before I'm back out on the road, so keep an eye out for me and wave, toot your RVs horn or flash it's lights as you pass. ;-)
I'll be watching for you. :-)
Oh and thank you so much for reading my blog. It's been great having so many followers.

A Knock On The Door and Plan "E"
Rantoul, IL.
69 Deg. clear, SE wind @ 9 mph.
Forecast today = Partly sunny with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.
Jim was outside digging around in my basement by about 7:30 yesterday morning. He had a couple more totes that he wanted to go through before it got too hot. These 2 totes had all kinds of things in them from a new electrical outlet to replacement screening for the windows and door to spare parts for me.
The first thing he did was to put all of the parts for me into a box and put them back into the basement to send with me when I go to the dealer. Then he started sorting out the junk that was in there and by the time he was done, he had those 2 totes condensed down to 1. :-)
Just before lunch, Jim and Linda took CLT and headed over to Wally World to pick up a new mattress cover and some new sheets for the bed. The old ones were getting really bad and they wanted to have new ones when they moved their sleep number mattress to the Newmar.
In the afternoon, Linda went through all her clothes and sorted and packed some of them in boxes while Jim rested and caught up on blogs. After Linda was done with her clothes, they both took little naps. :-)
About 5:00 they were trying to decide what they wanted to do for dinner. While they were talking, there was a knock on my door. When Jim checked, he found that it was Shirley whose bog, Our Second Childhood we've been following for some time now. She and her husband, Paul, follow this blog and knew we were here, so they decided to stop off at Prairie Pines Campground for the night and say "Hi". ;-)
What a great surprise it was having Shirley stop by. Jim, Linda and I have been so wrapped up in this trading/moving thing that it was really good to have someone come and visit for awhile. Just like with so many RVers that we meet, it was like talking to an old friend as soon as they met.
Thanks for stopping by Shirley and Paul. Safe travels, wherever the road takes you. :-)
Oh, and Jim and Linda's dinner? Well, they just went to Arby's an had a sandwich.
Do you remember when I told you that Jim packed away his big eraser the other day? Well, It's a good thing that he found that little one because he's been making changes to the travel plans again. ;-) Yep, he got out that pencil and with the little eraser yesterday afternoon and is now working on plan "E"!
"What's plan "E"? you ask. Well plan "D" was to leave here on our about the 22nd, head to Sioux Falls and then head to the family reunion in Wisconsin. Plan "E" has them leaving here right after the 4th of July and heading to the reunion up at the Wisconsin Dells and then heading to Sioux Falls from there. They'll be leaving the reunion on the 15th of July and don't absolutely have to be in Sioux Falls until the 22nd.
Why the 22nd? Well, that's Linda's birthday and she needs to get her drivers license renewed before that date.
Plan "E" will also give them much more time to get everything organized in the Newmar before leaving here. It should take some of the pressure off, that especially Jim is feeling, and that's a good thing. Right?
Don't know what the weather is going to do today. There's some real purdy colors on the radar North of here but the weather guy on TV is saying that he doesn't expect those storms to get here until sometime tomorrow.
Jim and Linda can't do too much more packing into boxes or they won't be able to move around in me. There are a few cabinets that need to be checked out though because there's probably some stuff in them that needs to be thrown away.
Also, today Jim and Linda will be contacting the RV dealer again to see what the status is on the Newmar. And maybe, just maybe, Nathan will get the parts for the oven and bring it back and install it.
A Point to Ponder : Why is there not a Channel 1 on TV?

Why Did We Think Trading Motor Homes Was A Good Idea?
Rantoul, IL.
68 Deg mostly cloudy, SE wind @ 5 mph.
Forecast today = Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 90s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.
Jim and Linda have been asking themselves,"Why did we think that trading Motor Homes was a good idea?" The last few days have been pretty much non stop work for both of them and to be honest, they're not used to doing much manual work any more.
Today, there was more packing of boxes and bags. Then after lunch, Jim drug a bunch of the tote boxes out of my basement and went over to tell Louise and Paul that when they had time, he was ready to move a bunch of boxes, totes and bags to the storage area over at the bathhouse. Well, they weren't busy right at that time so they said that they could help right away.
Paul's son Mark was visiting Paul and Louise and so he jumped on the ATV and took it over to where the little utility trailer was parked so Jim could hook it up to the ATV. They had to make 2 trips to the bathhouse to get all the stuff over there, but it didn't take too long with Paul and Mark helping Jim load and unload the trailer.
It sure was good of them to help Jim and Linda. By storing a lot of the stuff over there, they won't have to try to get everything packed into the Newmar over at the dealer's.lot and will be able to take their time doing it when they come back here.
Jim didn't get to see most of the NASCAR race but he said that this was more important. He did however get to see the last few laps.
When he got back here, he and Linda kind of just collapsed. Jim was pretty much worn out from working in the hot and humid weather and Linda from working on sorting things and moving boxes and bags the whole day. Then after resting for awhile Linda made a light meal,
Oh, and then after dinner, Jim took a little nap. :-)
About 8:30, Linda said that she had a taste for some ice cream so they took CLT and headed over to the Dairy Queen. It must have "hit the spot" because they were both smiling when they returned. ;-)
Did you know that on this day in 1933, eager motorists parked their automobiles on the grounds of Park-In Theaters, the first-ever drive-in movie theater, located on Crescent Boulevard in Camden, New Jersey?
Do you remember the Drive-ins? ;-)

Memorial Day, Some RV Info And Photos and A Cookout
Rantoul, IL.
69 Deg. clear, S. at 8 mph.
Forecast today = Sunny. Highs in the lower 90s. Breezy. South winds 15 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.
Please take some time today to honor all of the men and women who have died to keep us free. They gave the ultimate sacrifice.
OK, I've messed with you enough. ;-) Here's some of the photos Jim took the other day, and I must admit, this MH sure looks nice.
I don't know all the details about it yet, but I do know that it's a 2000 Newmar London Aire. It's 45' long, has about 58,000 miles on it and has a very big Cummins engine. It has 2 slides on the drivers side, (one for the living room / kitchen and one in the bedroom). It has the Aqua Hot heating system, basement AC, a 12.5 KW Onan diesel generator, a side-by-side residential refrigerator / freezer and an electric stove.
In the basement it has an entertainment center, slide out trays in 2 bays, plus quite a bit more storage space.
As you can see by the photos, it has a gold / silver / grey / white paint scheme
Being that it's 45' long, it has the tag axle and I understand it has a CCC (cargo carrying capacity) of around 6,000 lbs.
That should be enough for all Jim and Linda's stuff!!! ;-)

A side view.
Here's a few photos of the inside.
This one is from the front of the coach looking back.
This is from the back looking forward.
If you notice, there are 2 couches. Well, the one on the right in the photo above is going to be removed and a desk and and a recliner are going to go into it's place. For now, the couch on the left will stay, but may be replaced with chairs or recliners at some later date.
The dealer is having the engine serviced and will correct some minor problems with the coach. While that is being done, Jim and Linda are getting their finances in order and in about a week and a half to 2 weeks they should be taking possession.
Then, of course, all of Jim and Linda's "stuff" that is in me will have to be transferred to the Newmar, but the dealer told Jim and Linda that they would help.
So . . . . . . . . . .there you have it. It sure sounds and looks nice and I hope that it will serve Jim and Linda for many, many years to come.
Yesterday afternoon, Louise and Paul had a cook-out over at their site and invited Jim and Linda to come over for hamburgers.
Linda decided that she would bake a cake to take over there but when she went to use my convection oven, after preheating, it just quit. No display no nothing. Jim checked my circuit breakers and even checked the voltage at the outlet where it's plugged into, and there was electric there. :-(
If you remember, this microwave / convection oven was just installed last November, so Linda called the customer service number in the book and talked to a lady that said it would be covered under warranty and gave Linda a Job # and a phone number to call for repair service in this area. Of course being the Holiday weekend, she couldn't contact the repair facility, so that will have to be done tomorrow.
So, "What did Linda do about the cake"? you ask. Well, she already had it mixed up and in the pan, so she called Louise and asked her if she would bake it in her oven? Louise said "of course", so Jim took it over there and Louise baked it for Linda. Then in about 45 minutes Jim went back over to Louise's and brought the cake back here to cool and for Linda to frost it.
Thanks, Louise.
The cook-out was a great success. There must have been about a dozen people over there and many of them brought something to contribute to the meal.
Ahhhhhh!!!! Good food, good company, what more could you ask for? ;-)
Did you know that on Memorial Day, the flag should be at half-staff until noon only, then raised to the top of the staff?

Comment On Comments and A Couple Photos
Rantoul, IL
62 Deg. scattered clouds, W. wind @ 7 mph.
Forecast today = Mostly sunny. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Warmer. Highs in the upper 80s. Breezy. South winds 15 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon
OK, I've got to get something straight here. I received some comments and e-mails yesterday, and I really don't want any of you feeling sorry for me or being sad. I have accepted the fact that it's time for me to slow down and not travel so much. I've had a great time with Jim and Linda, full-timing and traveling all over U.S., but I am getting tired and the time has come to start taking it easy.
Believe me when I tell you that the time will come when your RVs need to slow down too. We're not so much different from humans, we get old and start wearing out just like people do, and it's good when we have owners who know when the time to slow down has come, so we don't end up breaking down way out in the boonies someplace.
I'll find someone who will take care of me until it's time to put my jacks down one last time. So. . . . .please don't be sad. I'll miss the lifestyle too, but there are still good days ahead for me.
For all of you that read my blog and are concerned about my welfare, Thank You!!
I'll still be around here for a little while yet, and I hope you continue to read my posts. After Jim and Linda take possession of the "new to them" RV, I really don't know what will happen, but I'm going to talk to the new RV and see if it wants to take up with this blog where I leave off.
Jim and Linda went over to the RV dealership yesterday to take some measurements of some of the areas of the new MH. Then, CLT tells me, they went to an Ashley Furniture store and bought some furniture!!! :-o Wow, I thought that all RVs came with furniture already installed!!
Hmmmm, they must be making some changes inside. ;-)
While they were over at the dealer, Jim took some photos, so I thought I'd post a few.
This first one is of the sold sign the dealer put in the window.
This is of the side of the MH
And, finally, this is of the front of the RV.
I think it looks pretty nice. What do you think? ;-)
Did you know that the south refused to honor the dead on Memorial Day until after World War I when the meaning of Memorial Day changed from honoring civil war dead to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war?

More Storms, My Site and Another Nice Visit
Apex, NC.
53 Deg.partly cloudy, no wind.
Forecast today = Mostly sunny. Isolated sprinkles this afternoon. Highs in the mid 70s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.
We had some wind here for awhile, but all the storms either went just to the North or the South of Apex. Jim did spend quite a bit of time watching their paths on radar though because small cells kept popping up all over the place.
Many folks in the SE were not so lucky though and our hearts and prayers go out to all who were hit by the many, many tornadoes and storms.
During one of the breaks in the weather, Jim went out and took a few photos of me in my site. As you can see, I'm well off the road and my site is surrounded by trees. This is actually the type of site I like the best. :-)
This is the view looking down the road from my site.
Because of the weather, Jim and Linda didn't go anywhere during the day yesterday. Jim went outside a few times, (between showers), but it was so hot and muggy that he didn't stay out long.
Then about 4:30 he and Linda headed over to Mike's and had another very nice dinner with him and his family. The skies had cleared by that time and the sun was shinning so CLT had a nice little trip over there. After another nice visit, Jim and Linda came back here and watched TV until bedtime.
Oh, I want to thank Gale and Rick, (one of my followers of this blog), who made a comment yesterday telling us about some more RV parks over in the Moncure area. Jim knew about one of the parks but didn't realize that there were 2 more over there. He says he'll check them out if he and Linda get the chance.
So . . . . it looks like the nasty weather is behind us for awhile. The weather gal on TV is saying that it should be nice all the way through the weekend and she's not forecasting any rain until next Tuesday. :-)
Good! Everything around here needs a little chance to dry out.
Did you know that today is "National Hairball Awareness Day"?

Easter Dinner With Jenny And Her Family
Bluff City, TN
52 Deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = Partly sunny. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s. South winds 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent
It was just noon when Jim and Linda hopped into CLT and headed to Mountain City. Because Jenny's sister's house, (where the Easter dinner was to be held), was kind of off the beaten path, they decided to go to Jenny and Don's first, spend a little time with them, and then follow them over there.
They took 19 down to Elizabethton and then 67 up to Mountain City. It was a very scenic drive over there with a good portion of the route following along side of a large lake. Other sections of the route followed small streams and rivers as the road wound up, over and around the mountains. It was just 1:00 when they got to Mountain City and just a few minutes after when they pulled into the driveway at Don and Jenny's.
Don has done a great job rebuilding this house and has made it into a really nice home. There is also a large building out back where Don stores all his lawn cutting equipment.
After visiting for awhile, they all headed over to Jenny's sister's house with Don leading the way and CLT following along behind.
After driving for about 15 minutes they arrived at Mae's house and went inside to meet everyone. There they met 3 of Jenny's sisters and one of her brothers along with Jenny's sister-in-law and 2 of her brothers-in-law. They also met 1 of Jenny's nephews, "Uncle Bill," and her grand niece and namesake. (the baby shares Jenny's middle name of Rose).
About 2:30, all the food was brought out and placed on the kitchen counters and everyone helped themselves to a great home cooked meal. :-) Jim and Linda said that there was enough food to feed twice as many people and everything that they had was just great!!!
As you can see by these 2 photos, there we all kinds of vegetables and salads along with mashed potatoes, ham, beef, and about 5 or 6 delicious deserts,
After the meal, everyone sat and talked for awhile. In the photo below, you see Linda, Jenny and Jenny's sister-in-law, Imogene.
Jenny's grand niece however, decided that it was nap time. ;-)
About 4:30 everyone started packing up food and carrying it out to their cars and by 5:00 most everyone had said their good-bye's and were starting to leave.
Jim and Linda were so pleased to be welcomed into this warm family gathering. Everyone was so nice and welcomed them with open arms.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! :-)
When it was time to leave, Don told Jim about a shorter way to get back here to the CG in Bluff City. He said that Jim should turn CLT to the left at the end of the driveway and follow Cross Mountain Road up to the top of the mountain and then take another left and it would bring them right into Elizabethton and then back here to the CG.
So. . . . that's what Jim did, and wow!!! Talk about scenic!!!!
CLT said that the road wound up and up and around and around. Some of the grades were so steep that after taking curves at 10 to 20 mph, Jim had to put CLT's transmission all the way down into 1st gear to get going again!! The scenery was spectacular and when they reached the top, there was a little gravel pull-off and this is what the view was like.
Now, it doesn't show up very well in this photo, but it's a long way down there to the bottom. The air was nice and cool with a little breeze blowing and there was not a sound to be heard except for the singing of the birds.
Beautiful country. ;-)
It was about 6:00 when Jim backed CLT in along side of me. Jenny sent some food home with Jim and Linda and after getting it put away, they both sat down and talked about what a great day they had. After a while, Linda drank one of her "shakes" and Jim had a delicious ham sandwich. ;-)
Thanks again, Jenny and Don, for the great meal and the wonderful hospitality. Jim and Linda will remember this day for many years to come.

A Great Visit With Jenny And Don
Bluff City, TN
50 Deg. partly cloudy, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 81 deg. partly sunny, SW wind @ 5 to 15 mph.
Jim and Linda did a little house cleaning in me yesterday morning in anticipation of Jenny and Don coming for a visit. Because it was raining off and on most of the morning and early afternoon, no one was out and about much, so they spent part of the time watching TV.
About 4:30, Jenny and Don pulled up in front of me and came inside where everyone sat and talked for about an hour. Then, the discussion turned to deciding where to go out to eat at. It was finally decided that they would go to the Mayflower Seafood Restaurant in Elizabethton which is about 10 miles from here.
Jim said that he had the Deviled Crab and Linda had Whitefish. Both said that the food was really good and were glad that Don and Jenny suggested the Mayflower. Of course the best part of the meal was being able to share it and visit with Jenny and Don. ;-)
After the meal Don and Jenny took Jim and Linda up to see the Watauga Dam and Lake. They said that it is way back up in the mountains and to get there you take a very narrow curvy roads running right along side of a river. They said the scenery was beautiful but didn't think that the roads up there would be too good for a vehicle my size.
When they got back here, Jim got out his camera and snapped this photo of Jenny and Don.
And then this photo of Jenny and Linda.
After that, Jim gave his camera to Don and he got this photo of Linda, Jenny and Jim.
It was a great visit and Jim, Linda, Jenny and Don really seemed to enjoy each others company. They also got to know each other much better and learned a little more about their personal lives.
Today I think Linda is going to do some laundry and Jim will probably start getting me ready to travel on Monday.
Now, I can hear you asking, "Why is he going to start getting you ready to travel today if you're not leaving until Monday"? Well, you see, Jenny and Don have invited Jim and Linda to come up to Mountain City, (where Jenny and Don live), on Sunday to share Easter dinner with them and Jenny's family. :-)
Jim told Jenny that that wasn't necessary and didn't want to intrude on their family's Holiday dinner, but Jenny wouldn't have it any other way and insisted that Jim and Linda come.
Isn't that great????? Such nice folks. :-)
Did you know that Easter always falls between March 22 and April 25?
Thanks Jenny and Don, for dinner and the great tour of the area.

A Visit With Barb
Panasoffkee, FL.
38 deg. clear, no wind. Brrrrrrr!!!!
Forecast today = high temp. 70 deg. clear, N. wind @ 5 mph.
Jim and Linda took CLT and headed up to Ocala about 10:00 yesterday morning to see Barb. It had been a year since they had seen her and both said that it was really good to see her again and catch up on what's been happening.
As I said yesterday, Barb and Linda used to hang out together back up in Illinois and Jim got to know Barb through Linda. Now, they've all been friends for many, many years.
They talked until a little after noon, and then they took Barb's car and headed over to the Big Apple Restaurant, which isn't too far from her house. After a good meal and good conversation, they headed back to Barb's and spent most of the afternoon talking.
.
Sarah , (who Jim didn't get a photo of), lives with Barb. This makes it easier for both of them in these hard economic times. Jim and Linda had met her when we were here last year, and it was good to see her again too. The mobile home is quite large with 2 baths and 3 bedrooms, so they seem to have plenty of room for the both of them.
After hugs, they left Barb's a little after 4:00 and came back here to the park. When they got back here, they were still talking about how good it was to see her again. :-)
Thanks Barb, for a very enjoyable day.
About 5:30 both Jim and Linda started getting hungry, so they just put together sandwiches as they had a fairly large meal for lunch. Then, it was TV again until bedtime.
Did you know that Ocala was an important center of citrus production until the Great Freeze of 1894-1895?
.
Oh, and to Paul and Marti who made a comment about the weather down here in Florida on yesterday's post, I'll see what I can do to get it warmed up by the time you get down here. ;-)

Not Much Happening, Thanks Again Donna, Pollen And Allergies
Lake Panasoffkee, FL.
61 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 79 deg, Partly cloudy, slight chance of showers this afternoon, SE wind @ 10 to 15 mph.
Not much happened here yesterday. I'm burned out on the photo thing, so I didn't do any more with them. It was really nice here yesterday, so Jim spent some time out and about, Then he and Linda took CLT and headed down to Beef O'Brady's in Bushnell for an early dinner.
Oh. speaking of photos, Froggi Donna made another comment on yesterday's post about resizing photos. I'm going to try her suggestions and see what happens. You may want to check it out if you're having problems with your photos loading with a slow Internet connection.
Thanks again Donna, :-) I'll get in touch with you if it works out.
Linda got all the tax stuff ready to send off to their Tax Preparer yesterday, so this morning Jim is going to take it to the post office. After that, I have no idea what will be happening. I know Jim is going to want to be outside, but he probably shouldn't be out too much because his allergies have been really bad lately. This is the time of year in Florida when there is so much pollen in the air that the top of everything setting outside, (including me), gets covered with that greenish / yellow stuff. :-(

Still Working On Photos and A Partial Solution
Lake Panasoffkee, FL.
49 deg. some fog, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 79 deg. partly cloudy E. wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
I'm still fooling around with this photo thing. The photo below is of the Clubhouse at the Southern Pines Resort that we were at last week.
This is of me on my site at Southern Pines. A Park Model trailer will eventually be put on this site and will no longer be available for RVs. It will then be landscaped with grass and bushes.
This is a photo of the swimming pool here at the TurtleBack RV Resort. It looks really nice and quite a few people spend time there on the warmer days.
OK, enough playing around with the photos. Now, it's time to try to explain what happened to cause me not to be able to post photos in the past.
First of all, I'd like to thank long time follower, Froggi Donna for her comment way back on Feb. 11, 2011. In it, she suggested that my photos might be too large plus gave some other suggestions.
Well being that I knew that the camera that Jim is using was set to take photos with a size of 1024 x 768 pixels, at about 220KB, I never gave that suggestion another thought.
That was where both Jim and I made our mistake. :-( Somehow, right about the 1st of the year, the setting on the camera got changed to 3648 x 2736 pixels at somewhere around 2.2MB!!!!
Way too large!!!!!!
Jim found the problem with the setting the other day when he was sitting outside under my awning and playing around with the camera. He had remembered Froggi Donna's comment and decided to check the settings, just for the heck of it. How the setting got changed neither Jim or I know, but it did. So. .. . . .now, I've been experimenting with changing the size of a few of the photos to see if they would load, and so far I've been successful. :-)
Now, the problem may not yet be completely solved. :-( Yesterday while I was experimenting, I ran into a another glitch. When I am using the Campgrounds wi-fi, the photos load with no problem. However, if I switch to my air card, (which is an AT&T card), even although it's receiving a 3 G signal, the photos will not load. What I'm concerned about is that in the past the photos would load even if I didn't have wi-fi or even 3G.
So, there still has to be something else wrong. I don't know if it's a problem with this computer or my Internet connection, but I'll have to find out what is causing this because in our travels I usually don't have a very fast connection and that will really limit me to the times I can post photos.
OK enough about all of that!!!! "What did Jim and Linda do yesterday", you ask? Well, not a whole lot.
Jim and Linda have decided to stay here until the 14th so when Jim took the garbage to the dumpster, he stopped by the office and paid for the additional days. While there, he had a nice little conversation with Diane, (the park manager), about the park and what it was like when she and her husband took over a few years ago. She told Jim that at that time, he probably wouldn't have wanted to stay even one night, much less extend his stay. She said that they know that there are still things that need to be improved, but again, it's that money thing, and they're doing the improvements as the money becomes available.
When Jim got back here, he called Robin over at the Orange City RV Resort to make sure we could get in to that park on the 14th. Robin told Jim that it wouldn't be a problem as the folks that were there for "Bike Week", in Daytona would be leaving by then.
So. . . . .here's the plan. We'll be here until the 14th, head over to Orange City where we'll stay there until it's time to head up to the RV Dreams Rally, the first part of April.
For dinner, Jim cooked a brat and a hot dog on the grill while Linda cooked asparagus on my stove. That along with some chips made for a nice meal. ;-) Then it was TV, computers and reading again until bedtime.
A Point to Ponder : If people with one arm go to get their nails done, do they pay half price?

Month Old Photos, A Call To Barb and They Blew It Again
Panasoffkee, FL.
49 Deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 72 deg. sunny, N. winds @ 5 to 10 mph.
Well, being that this photo thing is still working, I'm going to back up about a month to the Fish Fry that we had when we were back at the Southern Aire RV Resort in Thonotosassa. Here are a few of the photos that I wanted to show you at the time, but just couldn't get them to post.
This first one is of the Host and Hostess, Dave and Dee Dee. Dave is the one who caught all of the fish at his stix and brix home, on a lake in central Illinois.
Here, you see one of their friends, John, helping out by frying some of the fish.
This shot is of one of the first batches of fish to come out of the fryer.
There was a big crowd of people there as shown below. Jim and Linda said that no one went hungry because of lack of food, because besides of all the fish, everyone brought other food to eat too, such as smoked salmon, potato salad, vegetables, salads and deserts. :-)
I don't think everyone is in the above photo because I'm sure there were even more people off to the right of this shot.
Yesterday we were supposed to have heavy rain with t-storms in the area. Well, the weather people blew it again. There were no t-storms and the rain was so light that the street didn't even get completely wet!! There was however, light drizzle for most of the morning, so hardly anyone was out and about. Then in the afternoon, the sun came out, but by that time, Jim and Linda were watching the NASCAR race on TV, so they didn't go out then either.
In case you didn't see it, Carl Edwards won the race and did his trade-mark back flip after the race was over. :-)
Yesterday afternoon, Linda called Barb, (Linda and Jim's friend who lives up in Ocala, FL.), and made plans to go up there to see her this coming Friday. Barb used to live up in Illinois and was one of the people Linda used to hang around with. They've always got plenty to talk about and catch up on, as Barb keeps up with the happenings in the town that she and Linda used to live in, and where Linda taught school.
I don't know what's happening today. Probably not much. I haven't heard of any plans to go anywhere or do anything, so unless someone comes up with something, I imagine that Jim and Linda will just do some puttering around here. ;-)
So, what's the deal with the photos? Well, I'm still experimenting with them and have a few other things to try. If everything keeps on working, I'll tell you what the problem was in the next day or two.
Oh, I'd like to take a minute to thank all of the people who have made comments on this blog during the last few days. I'm really happy that you enjoy what I write about, even without photos, and really appreciate your kind words. :-)
Thank You!!!!
Did you know that March is "Adopt A Rescued Guinea Pig Month"?

Happy Valentines Day, Thanks, Great Weather and Getting Ready
Thonotosassa, FL.
40 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 70 deg. sunny, N. wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
Thanks again for all the suggestions and comments the last few days. I have tried the suggestions to try to get photos to load, but it still won't work. Jim does have a few people that he can call but will be awhile before it's convenient.
So . . . . you'll just have to keep pretending to be able to see the photos. ;-)
The weather was really nice yesterday. You know, real close to that "Chamber of Commerce" weather that all the states and cities try to make you think that the weather is always like in their area. The reason that I say "real close" is that although it was sunny, warm, and there was a gentle breeze blowing, if you were in the shade, it was a little too cool.
Today it's supposed to be a little warmer, and by the end of this week, they're forecasting high temps up around 80 degrees!!!! :-) Now, that would normally be great, but do you know where I'll be sitting during this great spell of nice weather? Yep!! More than likely I'll be sitting in between other Motorhomes at the RV repair place with only about 4 or 5 feet on either side of me!!! No shade, no grass, just gravel and blacktop with a big old building about 3 feet behind me!!! :-(
I knew we shouldn't be going to see my mechanic. It would be so much nicer to be sitting under a nice shade tree somewhere, enjoying the cool breezes, warm weather and a nice little stream bubbling across the rocks. In fact, it would be much better if we just stayed here for another week or two!!!
Anyway, today I imagine that Jim will start getting me ready to head to Lakeland tomorrow. It's not very far over there but Jim told Lester, (my mechanic), that he'd try to get me there by 10:00, so we'll probably be leaving here sometime between 9:00 and 9:30.
Linda spent some time visiting with Bev yesterday and Jim went over to Gordy's for "happy hour" at 4:00. Since today is our last day here, I'm sure Jim and Linda will both look for times when they can visit a little with all of the "Illinois Bunch".
Again, it's been a very good visit with very good friends. ;-)
Did you know that the heart is the most common symbol of romantic love? Ancient cultures believed the human soul lived in the heart. Others thought it to be the source of emotion and intelligence. Some believed the heart embodied a man's truth, strength and nobility. The heart may be associated with love because the ancient Greeks believed it was the target of Eros, known as Cupid to the Romans. Anyone shot in the heart by one of Cupid's arrows would fall hopelessly in love. Because the heart is so closely linked to love, it's red colour is thought to be the most romantic.
Oh, and don't forget to give that someone special in your life a big hug today. ;-)

Sunny But Cool, Pizza Yesterday and A Fish Fry Today
Thonotosassa, FL.
41 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 67 deg. partly cloudy, SE. wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday turned out to be a partly sunny but cool day here at Southern Aire. You know, one of those days where if you're in the sun and out of the wind, it's quite warm. But, if you were in the shade and in the wind, you probably would want a jacket. In fact, that's exactly what happened yesterday afternoon during "happy hour" over a t Gordy's site. It was warm when it started, (about 4:00), but by 5:00 the sun had gone down behind the trees and it got pretty cold.
After "happy hour", Jim came back here for a little while and then he and Denny took Denny's truck and went to Hungry Howie's to pick up a pizza that Bev had ordered. While they were doing that, Linda gathered up some drinks and headed over to Denny and Bev's. The pizza, along with the excellent salad that Bev put together, made for a very good meal with very good friends. :-)
Thanks, Denny and Bev.
Today is also supposed to be mostly sunny but cool, and that's OK, but this is the day that Dave and Dee Dee are having their annual fish fry, and it just may be kind of cool for that.
You see, Dave catches a whole bunch of fish while they're up North in the summer and then freezes them. Then, bring them down here where Dee Dee fries them up for all of their friends here in the park. Their fish along with all of the dishes that the other people bring, make for a really good fried fish / potluck meal. :-)
It's an event that everyone looks forward to.
Oh Wow!!!!! I just looked over at the clubhouse and the whole roof is covered with frost!!!! I knew it was pretty cold, but I didn't know it was that cold!!!!
Brrrrrrr!!!!!
Did you know that on this day in 1960, the official groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Hollywood Walk of Fame? The first star to be dedicated on the historic walkway belonged to the actress Joanne Woodward, an Academy Award winner for The Three Faces of Eve (1957).

Under The Weather, Five Guys, and Gathering Info
DeBary, FL.
49 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 76 deg. Patchy fog this morning then becoming partly cloudy. S. wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
Jim hasn't felt too well the last couple days. He was certain that he was getting the bad cold that seems to be going around in this area, so he took some cold meds that pretty much knocked him out, but then yesterday afternoon, he started feeling better and now he thinks it might just have been his sinuses.
I sure hope he continues to feel better because he needs to start getting me ready to leave here on Sunday.
So, not much to report about, the last couple days. Laura and Ashley stopped by yesterday afternoon and then because Jim still didn't feel like going out, Linda went to eat with Laura and Lindsey last night. They went to a new place in Orange City called Five Guys . It's a burger place and Linda said the burgers and fries were good and would definitely go back again.
Oh, because if a suggestion on a comment from Jenny the other day, I've been gathering some information about what Jim's early years were like. He's been pretty cooperative and maybe one of these days, I'll post some of it here when I don't have anything to write about.
Some of the info I've gotten so far is pretty interesting. ;-)
"How's my itchy tire condition?" you ask. Well, thank you for asking. It hasn't beer real bad yet, but from past experience, it'll get much worse these last days before we leave. In fact once Jim starts getting be ready to travel, it usually gets almost unbearable. :-(

Thanks For The Comments and Go Bears!!!
DeBary, FL.
53 deg. cloudy, rain, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 72 deg, rain with possible t-storms this afternoon, SE wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
There was the sound of rain on my roof when Jim woke up this morning. Not heavy, just light rain. It's supposed to rain most of the day so there'll be no outside activities.
I got a couple of comments on yesterday's blog, one made me laugh, (thanks Judy), and the other 2 addressed my problem with coming up with something to write about. (Thanks Gail and Jenny). Jenny came up with the idea of interviewing Jim, asking him about his growing-up years and writing about that.
Hmmmm! That has some possibilities.
Now, I'll have to see if he wants to talk about those years. I do know that there are some periods in his life that he would probably wouldn't want to talk about, but the idea has some merit.
Hmmmmm!
Most of yesterday was spent watching football on TV. Jim and Linda were especially interested in the Bears / Seahawk game as they're both Bears fans, being that they're both from Illinois. "Go Bears"!!!!Besides watching TV they both read some in their books, took naps, and fooled around with the computers.
Oh, and, Jim went out and dumped my tanks.
Did you know that this week is "National Fresh Squeezed Juice Week"?

A Big "Thank You" To My Followers and Plans
DeBary, FL.
54 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 67 deg. sunny, W. wind @ 10 to 15 mph.
First of all, I'd like to thank the new followers to this site. Oh, and of course all of the followers that have been following for a long time, too. I now have 53 folks that are following this blog and it still amazes me that anywhere near that number of people find the stuff that I write about here interesting.
Thank You!!!!! Thank You!!!!! Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Yesterday was another slow day. Jim spent a good part of the day planning where we will be going this spring and summer.
"How does he go about doing that", you ask? Well, first of all, there are just a very few places where we have to be on certain dates. (The RV-Dreams Rally in April and the Family Reunion at the Wisconsin Dells in July, for instance). Then there are a few things that need to be done before a certain date, (Getting drivers licensees renewed).
Then Jim get his calendar and pencil out and pencils in the "must do" dates. Then, he can determine how many days we have to get from one place to the next. (This year it will be the time between the Rally and the Family Reunion.)
Then Jim and Linda start having fun!!! ;-) Once those dates are on the calendar, they figured out how many days we'll have to get from the Rally to the Reunion, with a stop in Sioux Falls, SC to get the license's renewed. The next step is to figure out what they would like to see or do between those stops, the most scenic / best roads to take, and finally, check out the availability of Campgrounds along the route.
Of course all of this has to fit into the allotted number of days.
To plan the route, Jim uses the "Streets and Trips" program on this computer, and of course his trusty old "Motor Carriers Road Atlas" to check for low clearances on the roads that are off the beaten path.
"So, what have Jim and Linda come up with", You ask?
Well the first "rough draft" takes us from the Rally in Tennessee to Apex, NC., to Virginia Beach. Then we'll head up to Indiana, the upper peninsula of Michigan, Black Duck, Minnesota, (to see Linda's cousin), Sioux Falls, SD, and then to the Reunion in Wisconsin.
Now, you have to remember, this is just in the first planning stages, Jim has that big eraser and knows how to use the "delete" key on this computer, so . . . all of this may change, but both he and Linda had fun doing the planning yesterday and will enjoy making minor and major changes as the planning progresses. ;-)
How about it. Are you already making plans for this summer's travels?

Finally, A Couple Photos and Still Waiting
Lakeland, FL.
63 deg. mostly cloudy, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp.81 deg. partly cloudy, East wind @ 10 to 15 mph.
Well, I may have gotten this photo thing figured out, but I'm not getting too excited about it yet. We'll see!!
This first photo is of the sunset Sunday night as Jim was cooking that steak on his grill.
We're still waiting on the replacement toilet to come in. I still have hopes that it'll get here in time for me to get to DeBary for Thanksgiving, but not counting too much on it. :-(
Yesterday morning, Linda got up early, (for her), and baked a chocolate cake for all the employees here at Creative Coach. There were actually two reasons for baking the cake. First of all, she and Jim wanted to show their appreciation to everyone who has worked on me and been so nice to us during our stay here. Second, this was a very good test of the convection part of my new oven, which I must say, preformed flawlessly. :-)
Jim took the cake into the office about 10:30, and it must have been good, because by the middle of the afternoon, it was gone!! :-)
For dinner, Jim and Linda took CLT and headed back to the Country Angels Restaurant in Polk City, where Linda had a patty melt sandwich and Jim had liver and onions.
Both said their meals were really good. :-)
Today, we'll continue waiting for the UPS truck to bring the toilet. We don't know if it will come today or not, but Lester said that he'd make sure it got installed just as soon as it got here.
Oh, and Jim called the CG in DeBary and rescheduled my reservation again. The lady was very understanding and said that she would be sure I got a site and that Jim should call as soon as he knew when I'd be getting there.
A Point to Ponder: Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet soup?

Gin And Syl Come To Visit
Apex, NC.
52 deg. partly cloudy, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 63 deg. clear, NW winds @ 10 to 15 mph.
Before our company came yesterday morning, Jim and Linda finished getting the inside of me presentable and then Linda baked some brownies while Jim went outside and rolled out my awning, put the table cloth and seat covers on the picnic table and swept the leaves and twigs off of the patio mat.
About 11:30, an SUV pulled up in front of my site and backed into the area in front of CLT.
Yep, it was Gin and Syl !!! And, they brought food!!!
What kind of food, you ask? Well, they stopped by a barbecue place on the way here and picked up some pulled pork, fried chicken, potato salad, cold slaw, hush puppies and sweet tea!!!
A real Southern meal!!! Thanks, Gin and Syl! :-)
Now, of course I didn't have any of the food, but it sure smelled good, and everyone seemed to really enjoy everything that they brought!!
After they finished eating everyone came inside of me and talked and talked and talked! In fact they all talked until almost 5:00!! What did they talk about? Well, almost everything they talked about had something to do with full-timing. You see, Gin and Syl are well on their way to going full-time next year, and have already sold a bunch of their stuff and are downsizing their belongings as much as possible.
After h and h, Jim and Linda put a few things away, grabbed a sandwich for their evening meal and then just watched TV until bedtime.
Another great day with great people. I'm looking forward to seeing them again next spring at the RV Dreams Rally. :-)
Jim took a photo of Gin and Syl when they were here yesterday, but for some reason, I can't get it to load to this post this morning. Sorry about that. I'll try to get it on tomorrow's post. :-(
Did you know that Halloween candy sales average about 2 billion dollars annually in the United States?

Virginia Beach to Emporia
Emporia, VA.
56 Deg. overcast, SW wind @ 4 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 76 deg. partly cloudy, SW wind @ 10 to 15 mph.
By the time Jim and Linda got everything packed up, me off of those wooden blocks that my front tires were up on, pulled me out of the drive, hooked CLT to the back of me, and said final good-byes to Joe, (he had worked from home on the computer yesterday morning), it was almost exactly 10:00 when we pulled away from the house.
Oh, as Jim was moving CLT, he noticed an envelope under CLT's wiper blade that was addressed to Linda. Linda said that it was a very nice note from Nancy, saying how much she enjoyed our visit and telling Linda some other sweet things that I won't go into here.
Anyway, Thanks Nancy. We really enjoyed our visit with you too, and are looking forward to coming back again, just as soon as we can.
From Virginia Beach, we headed West on I-264 and then tuned off on I-64, took it around the South side of the metro area and then picked up US 58 which brought us to Emporia. In Emporia, we tuned North on I-95, took it up to exit 17, and then came back South a little ways on US 301 to the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park.
It was Noon when we pulled up in front of the office, so it took us exactly 2 hours to travel 104 miles.
This is a nice park, but pretty expensive. The main reason for stopping here is that they have pull-thru, full hook-up sites that are reasonably level and easy to get into. Also, it's one of the very few camp grounds along our route to Apex, and the closest park to Joe and Nancy's.
As soon as Jim got me registered and pulled into my site, the first thing he did was to hook up the sewer hose and dump both of my tanks.
Whew!!! It was sure good to get rid of all of that stuff!!! :-)
Then, he hooked up the electric and water and came inside and leveled me.
Kind of backwards from what he normally does, but he wanted to dump the tanks while the solids were still suspended in the liquid.
As soon as he had the water and electric hooked up, Linda started doing laundry. It was misting outside by this time, so anything that she wanted to hang up, she had to hang on my cabinet door handles or on the shower.
For dinner, Linda heated up some of those meat balls that she had made the other day, and cooked some asparagus and rice to make a nice meal. After dinner, Jim fooled around with this computer, Linda dozed in her chair and they both watched TV until bedtime.
Today, we'll head over to Apex. Except for the traffic around the Raleigh area, it should be a fairly easy trip of about 130 miles. Once we get settled in, Jim will call Mike and Gina to find out what's going on, and then he'll be able to start making plans for next week.
Why does he want to make plans for next week, you ask? Well, if I understand it right, we may be getting some company, and he wants to try to figure out which day would be the best for the company to come to see me. :-)
Did you know that Emporia, VA is the home to MLB player Jamar Walton, NFL player Maurice Hicks, former WNBA Player Sharon Manning and NASCAR drivers Elliott Sadler and Hermie Sadler?
56 Deg. overcast, SW wind @ 4 mph.
