Rantoul, IL
65 Deg. partly cloudy, SE wind @ 4 mph.
Forecast today = Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.
First of all I'd like to thank all of you who left such nice comments on yesterday's blog.
I've done some checking and it seems that the easiest thing to do would be to just change the Title and leave the URL alone. Of course I still don't know if the new MH will want to do a blog, but I'm pretty convincing when I want to be. ;-)
Linda talked to the salesman over at the RV dealer yesterday and he said that the work on the new MH is coming along nicely and he thought that possibly around the 1st to middle part of next week it would be ready.
Also, Jim and Linda's investment counselor said that he thought he could get everything arranged by that time too, so it looks like things are falling together.
Jim did some more sorting, condensing and throwing away of basement stuff today, (between rain showers in the morning) and then came inside and did the same in a few cabinets. Meanwhile, Linda went through all of her embroidery stuff and sorted it as to projects done, waiting to be done and to be done, some day, and then packed it all away.
This move of stuff from me to the new MH should be real interesting. By what Jim says, I actually have more basement storage than it does, but it has storage under the bed inside that I don't have. I have two large medicine cabinets and it has two smaller ones. Jim says that he thinks there are more cabinets and drawers in the new MH but they're all different sizes than mine and located in different places/rooms.
I would imagine that for the first few months, Jim and Linda will be having a hard time finding many of their things. ;-o
For dinner, Jim cooked a steak on the grill and Linda cooked boiled potatoes and green beans on my stove. Again, it all sure smelled good and by what Jim and Linda were saying, it tasted good too. ;-)

A Little Of This And A Little Of That and A Few Photos
Dawson, WV.
51 Deg. mostly cloudy, N. wind @ 5 mph.
Forecast today = Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers this morning... then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. Light and variable winds...becoming southwest around 10 mph this afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Nothing much to write about yesterday. Linda did a couple loads of laundry, Jim cooked a couple burgers on the grill for dinner and both just enjoyed not doing much or having to be any place.
You know, just "kicking back".
While he was doing nothing, Jim got his camera out and wandered around the CG. This old building looked kind of neat so he snapped a couple of shots. I liked this one best so I though I'd post it here today.
Remember the beautiful blue sky that I told you about yesterday? Well he got a shot of that too. ;-)
The other day, before we left Virginia Beach, Jim and Linda went to the store to pick up a few items like bread and milk. This next photo is of the bread that Jim bought and I thought what it says on the bag was pretty interesting.
As you can see, it says Regular Old Fashion "Real Bread". Now, that brings up the question, What is the other bread you buy at the store?
Jim says that he doesn't know what some of the bread companies have been doing to their bread lately but some of what you buy these days tastes like cardboard, some wads up in your mouth, some is so dry that you need to have a drink with every bite, and his favorite, . . . . . . . . a bread that turns to mush in your mouth as soon as you take a bite!! :-0
He has tried the bread shown in the photo above and is glad to report it is better than most of the breads that he has had recently.
Now, if they'd just sell this "real bread" nation wide so he could buy it wherever we are.

Why Are We Saving It?
Lake Panasoffkee, FL.
60 deg. heavy rain with some thunder, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 67 deg. rain this morning then partly cloudy this afternoon with SW winds @ 10 to 15 mph.
This weekend everyone is supposed to set their clocks ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time.
Now, I've got a question about that. Why are we saving daylight? Aren't we just shifting the daylight to a different time of day? Or, are we going to save daylight to use at some later date, maybe sometime in December when there's less daylight hours, or when there's an eclipse of the sun?
I don't think so.
I may be in the minority, but I think that they should just leave the clocks alone and quit confusing everyone. Many people can't seem to remember that in the spring you turn your clocks ahead and then turn them back to where they were in the fall. Plus, it's a real hassle to change all of the clocks twice a year.
Maybe most people don't have as many clocks as we do, but just off the top of my roof, I've counted 8 clocks that Jim will have to set ahead this weekend. And, as you know, there's always one that is forgotten and has to be changed when you discover it at some later date. ;-)
I've been doing a little research on this Daylight Saving Time thing and from what I can tell, Benjamin Franklin originally came up with the idea. The reasoning seems to be that when the sun rises early in the summer most people are still sleeping and so by turning the clocks ahead, the daylight can be better used with later evening daylight hours.
See, like I said, the whole thing is confusing!! :-(
Well anyway, Saturday night, Jim will attempt to set all of the clocks ahead. It's something that has to be done if you don't want to be an hour late for appointments or the early bird specials at the restaurant. ;-) Oh, and while you're setting your clocks, why don't you check, or better yet, replace those batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. I know it's a hassle, but those detectors are important and can save you life.
I don't want to be losing any of my followers, you know. :-)
Jim didn't do a whole lot yesterday. His allergies were really bothering him and so he stayed inside a good part of the day. He did go to the Post Office in the morning and got those tax forms sent off to the Tax Preparer.
For dinner, Linda made a pasta type casserole. It was kind of like lasagna but with small pasta instead of the large noodles. Both Jim and Linda said that it was real good though, and I think Linda will make it again sometime.

Not Much Happening, Thanks Again Donna, Pollen And Allergies
Lake Panasoffkee, FL.
61 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 79 deg, Partly cloudy, slight chance of showers this afternoon, SE wind @ 10 to 15 mph.
Not much happened here yesterday. I'm burned out on the photo thing, so I didn't do any more with them. It was really nice here yesterday, so Jim spent some time out and about, Then he and Linda took CLT and headed down to Beef O'Brady's in Bushnell for an early dinner.
Oh. speaking of photos, Froggi Donna made another comment on yesterday's post about resizing photos. I'm going to try her suggestions and see what happens. You may want to check it out if you're having problems with your photos loading with a slow Internet connection.
Thanks again Donna, :-) I'll get in touch with you if it works out.
Linda got all the tax stuff ready to send off to their Tax Preparer yesterday, so this morning Jim is going to take it to the post office. After that, I have no idea what will be happening. I know Jim is going to want to be outside, but he probably shouldn't be out too much because his allergies have been really bad lately. This is the time of year in Florida when there is so much pollen in the air that the top of everything setting outside, (including me), gets covered with that greenish / yellow stuff. :-(

Thanks For The Comments and Go Bears!!!
DeBary, FL.
53 deg. cloudy, rain, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 72 deg, rain with possible t-storms this afternoon, SE wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
There was the sound of rain on my roof when Jim woke up this morning. Not heavy, just light rain. It's supposed to rain most of the day so there'll be no outside activities.
I got a couple of comments on yesterday's blog, one made me laugh, (thanks Judy), and the other 2 addressed my problem with coming up with something to write about. (Thanks Gail and Jenny). Jenny came up with the idea of interviewing Jim, asking him about his growing-up years and writing about that.
Hmmmm! That has some possibilities.
Now, I'll have to see if he wants to talk about those years. I do know that there are some periods in his life that he would probably wouldn't want to talk about, but the idea has some merit.
Hmmmmm!
Most of yesterday was spent watching football on TV. Jim and Linda were especially interested in the Bears / Seahawk game as they're both Bears fans, being that they're both from Illinois. "Go Bears"!!!!Besides watching TV they both read some in their books, took naps, and fooled around with the computers.
Oh, and, Jim went out and dumped my tanks.

Today? Tomorrow? Next Week? Next Month? Next Year? 20 Years?
Virginia Beach, VA.
51 Deg. clear, no wind
Forecast today = high temp. 72 deg. mostly sunny, N. winds @ 5 to 10 mph.
There was sad news on many blogs yesterday. It seems that this full-timing couple, Margie and Bruce, were run down and killed by someone in a car while taking a walk along the road out in Pismo Beach, CA. I had never met either one of them, and in fact I didn't even follow their blog, but that doesn't make hearing about it any easier.
They were RVers, and that made them part of the RVing family, and it is a terrible unnecessary loss of life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends.
When something like this happens, I start thinking about how fragile and short life can be. None of us can see the future and there's no telling when our time will come. It may be today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year or maybe 20 years from now.
We don't know.
So, that being the case, doesn't it make sense to not put things off? It's easy to say, "Some day we'll go to Alaska" or "In a few years when we have enough money, we'll go full-timing". But, will we still be here some day? Will we have the time to gather "enough" money to feel comfortable enough to go full-time?
Or will tomorrow be our last day?
I have known of RVers that have put off going full-time until they were the age where they could get maximum benefits from their retirement and Social Security, and then have only been able to full-time for a very short time because one of them got sick or died soon after they hit the road. They could have enjoyed the lifestyle for quite a few years if they had not waited.
Some of you may remember that back in 2008, very good friends of Jim and Linda's, (Roland and Louise), were in an accident where a drunk driver crossed into their lane and hit them head-on while they were driving their toad. Louise was in the hospital for months with multiple injuries and she is still having problems after many, many surgeries. They were full-timers, but since the accident, they have built a place close to their son's house in North Carolina and although they have been able to take some trips in their Motor Home and spend some time in it during the winters, down in Florida, who knows if they'll ever be able to full-time again.
I guess what I'm saying is that you should never assume that you can wait do something tomorrow or next year. Tomorrow or next year may never come. The death of Margie and Bruce is terrible and I'm sure they will be missed, but sometimes it takes a terrible thing like this to remind us that there is no guarantee that we will ever see tomorrow.
If you've got something you really want to do, whether it's going full-timing or something else, don't put it off if it is at all possible to do it now.

A Roast In Nancy's Crock Pot and A Change In The Weather
Virginia Beach, VA.
47 deg. partly cloudy, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 70 deg. mostly sunny. Becoming cloudy this afternoon with a 20% chance of rain. W. winds @ 15 to 20 mph.
By 10:00 yesterday morning, Linda was in the house and putting together a large roast, carrots, potatoes, and onions into Nancy's big crock pot. Nancy had bought all the ingredients, but asked Linda if she would put it together and get it cooking because, (she and Joe both say), when Linda does it, it tastes better than when either of them do it. :-)
Shortly after Linda came back out here, the skies opened up and it poured for quite a little while and then misted and sprinkled for a good part of the early afternoon. After that, it was cloudy and cool for the rest of the day, with a high temperature on my thermometer of 65 deg. Now, 65 doesn't sound very cool, but with a breeze, it shure did feel almost cold after having just set a new record high temperature just 24 hours earlier!
Quite a change in the weather!
Not much happened the rest of the day. Jim was using this computer for quite awhile to surf the Internet, and then Linda used it to find more info for her family tree. Jim took a little nap, and then they both went into the house about 5:30 and had a great roast beef crock pot meal after Nancy came home from work. (Joe had a golf tournament, so he didn't get home until much later).
I have no idea what is going on today. I don't think there are any plans at all.
Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Oh, I want to welcome my two new followers. That makes it over 40 folks who are now following this blog. Also, both Jim and I want to thank the folks who commented on our posts over the last few days. It sounds like we've got some of you thinking about Blogs and what the Full-timing lifestyle is really like.;-)

Wind, Wind And More Wind, and Company's Comming
Rantoul, IL.
70 deg. clear, SW wind @ 10 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 81 deg. mostly sunny, W. wind @ 20 to 25 mph with gusts @ 30 to 15 mph.
Wind, wind, wind. I don't ever remember so many windy days here in Rantoul as we are having this summer. I though it was windy yesterday, but they are forecasting even stronger winds today!!!! Thankfully they are saying, on TV, that tomorrow they should die down.
Being that it was so windy, Jim didn't do a whole lot outside again. He did manage to dump my tanks and do a few other little chores. Then in the afternoon, he and Linda spent some time picking up and putting away stuff and doing a little cleaning inside of me.
You see, if you check the comments on yesterday's post, we're getting company!!! Ken and Cindy are going to be coming today to see me and to spend the night here at the Campground. Jim and Linda met them at the RV Dreams Rally in South Carolina this spring, and since they will be traveling through the area, they're going to stop by. :-) I don't know just when they'll be getting here, but Jim and Linda are looking forward to spending some time visiting and having dinner with them.
Maybe they'll get a site close to me and I'll get to meet their Motorhome! :-)
Most of the RVs left the CG yesterday. From now on, it'll be pretty quiet here at Prairie Pines. There'll be a few RVs stopping by as they travel through the area, and I'm sure a few will come for the weekend, but for the most part, the season is over. Soon we'll be leaving and so will the other RVs that are still here.
It's getting time to start heading South. ;-)
Did you know that on this day in 1813, the United States got its nickname, Uncle Sam? The name is linked to Samuel Wilson, a meat packer from Troy, New York, who supplied barrels of beef to the United States Army during the War of 1812. Wilson stamped the barrels with "U.S." for United States, but soldiers began referring to the grub as "Uncle Sam's." The local newspaper picked up on the story and Uncle Sam eventually gained widespread acceptance as the nickname for the U.S. federal government.

Reply To Comment, Better Weather, and A Neat RV But No Photo
Rantoul, IL.
66 Deg. clear, NW wind @ 10 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 83 deg. sunny, NW wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
First of all I'd like to reply to a comment that Mike and Gerri made on yesterday's blog concerning the storage of sweet corn. Jim and Linda have been able to keep the corn fresh for up to a week in the refrigerator by husking it, cutting away any bad spots, washing it, wrapping each ear in a wet paper towel and then putting the warped ears inside of a plastic bag or bags.
So...... buy a dozen or two and enjoy. :-)
The weather wasn't a whole lot cooler yesterday, (highs in the upper 80's), but the humidity was much lower and there was a nice breeze blowing, so it really didn't feel too hot outside. Jim spent quite a bit of the day outside doing this and that.
In the morning, he talked to the owner of this neat little RV that was parked next to me.
((( I have been trying for about 1/2 hour to get a photo of the trailer uploaded here, but it just won't work today and I'm getting tired of waiting, so I'll try to upload the photo on tomorrow's post. )))
Sorry about that. :-(
The trailer is light enough to be pulled with a 1/2 ton truck. It's about 17' long, has a queen sized bed, stove, fridge, and a bath with a shower. The man and his wife live in Indiana, and were just returning from a trip to Colorado to see their son. This was their first long trip with the trailer and they said they were very happy with it and how it pulled down the road.
After lunch, Jim dumped my tanks and then took CLT and headed over to the IGA store to buy a few groceries that was needed. After he returned, he took a little nap, sat outside for awhile and then cooked a couple of burgers on the grill for dinner, while he was cooking the burgers, Linda made salads and got out chips and stuff to go with them.

A Partial Bath and What's With The Weather?
Rantoul, IL.
62 deg. clear, NW wind @ 6 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 85 deg. sunny, NW wind @ 10 to 15 mph.
I don't know what got into Jim yesterday morning, but the first thing he did was to go for a little bike ride and then when he returned, he pulled CLT up in front of me, get out hose and all the washing stuff and gave CLT a much needed bath.
Then, he turned the hose on me!! Yep, I got a partial bath too!!
OK, now I can hear you asking, "What is a partial bath"? Well, he started on my left front corner, and worked his way back to the rear of me along my left side. Then he washed the back end of me, (which was very, very dirty from the gravel roads that I had been on). But, by the time he finished back there, it was getting quite hot, he was getting tired, and the mosquitoes were attacking him. :-(
So...... being that I'm not going anywhere or expecting any visitors, he left the rest of me for another day. And, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that day is today, because this morning it's cool outside and I think he wants to get it done so he can put all the washing stuff away.
Besides, I look kind of silly with one side of me nice and clean, and the other side dirty.
Linda has still been working on her sewing projects, so she still has my kitchen full of sewing stuff. This doesn't really matter, except it's very difficult to prepare any meals without moving all of her material and supplies someplace else. So, for the last few days, Jim and Linda have been going out to eat. Yesterday it wasn't too hot, so Jim got out his grill and cooked a brat and a hot dog, and Linda got out chips and fruit to go with them. Then they sat in my living room and watched the news while they ate their sandwiches.
The next few days are supposed to be pretty nice here in Rantoul, but Jim has the news on this morning and I just heard the weatherman say the they are expecting the temperatures to be going back up to the upper 90's by next Tuesday!!! I don't know what's going on with the weather. We froze all winter down in Florida and now we're cooking up here in Illinois!!!! :-(
Oh, Gin and Syl made a comment on yesterday's post and asked about the Campground data base that Jim and Linda have. Well, I call it a data base, but it's actually just a bunch of folders and files on a word processing program. The folders are the states and then the files are all the campgrounds in that state that Jim and Linda have been to since about 1998. Some of the campgrounds are no longer in existence and I'm sure the info is no longer valid on many of them. They do however check each time we travel to an area to see if there's any CG's that they've been to before, and if the entry isn't too old, can make a decision on whether or not to stay at a park.
I really don't know how all that info could be made available for other people to use. There's over 50 folders and over 500 files.
Did you know, the term "dog" has been used as a synonym for sausage since 1884 and accusations that sausage makers used dog meat date to at least 1845?

800 Posts, Awning Problems, Prescriptions And Hardware
Rantoul, IL.
66 Deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = High temp. 86 deg. sunny, S. winds @ 5 to 15 mph.
Wow!!! This is my 800th post to this blog!!!! I didn't know I had 800 things to write about!!!
The weather yesterday was great. We had temps in the mid 80's (which was a little hotter than I like), but the humidity was lower and there was a little breeze to help keep things cool. Today is supposed to be nice too.
Do you remember when I told you about the wind pulling the awning strap out of Jim's hand and the awning billowing up and then slamming against me? Well, there didn't appear to be any damage, but the other day, Jim found out that at the front of the awning, about 4 feet of the awning bead had pulled out of the awning track on the side of me!
Well, after a lot of thinking and planning, Jim tackled the problem yesterday morning. By using the awning locks, he was able to roll the awning out a little, flip on the locks, and release the tension on the awning. Then with a tool he had in his tool box, he was able to work the bead of the awning back into the track and then take a punch and tap on the track to close the slot a little to prevent it from coming back out.
The awning was out all day yesterday, and last night, and everything is still looking good. :-) I think it's going to be OK!
Whew!! I thought I was going to have to go to see a mechanic again!! :-(
In the afternoon, Jim and Linda took CLT and went to Walgreen's to get Linda's prescriptions refilled. Again, there was a little glitch, but it looks like it's going to work out.
After Walgreen's, they drove up to Paxton, IL (About 10 miles North of here), and went to a True Value Hardware Store. Jim needed some water hose repair ends, some pads to go on the legs of my kitchen chairs, and a few other little things. He found everything he needed and by about 2:00 they were back here at the CG.
Then it was nap time. :-)
For dinner Jim cooked a couple of burgers on the grill, while Linda cooked some asparagus on my stove and got out chips and watermelon. Then it was computers, and TV until bedtime.
I would like to thank the folks who took time to comment on yesterday's blog entry. Jim has made reservations for me at the Sunset Bay RV Resort and CG up there on the Keweenaw Peninsula. He did try to get me into the S.P. up by Copper Harbor, but they didn't have any sites left for a 40' MH. He also considered the Houghton City park, but the one he chose seemed more to Jim and Linda's liking. Of course they've never been up there, so we'll just have to wait and see what it's like.
Oh, and he says that if possible he and Linda will go out at night and take a look at those stars. A Northern Light show would be nice too. ;-)
Did you know that Michigan has the longest freshwater shoreline in the world?

More About Talking, Heat and Storms, and That's Just Rude.
Rantoul, IL.
65 deg. partly cloudy, S. wind @ 8 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 92 deg. mostly sunny, humid, W. winds @ 10 to 15 mph. 20% chance of afternoon showers.
I received a couple of nice comments on yesterday's blog. Thanks.
I think that everyone needs to sit down and talk to their significant other about things you might want to do or don't want to do in you future. Or, if you're on your own, take time to really be honest with yourself and make sure you're doing, and are going to be doing what makes you happy. I've seem so many couples that don't seem to be able to communicate at all, and usually one of them is not a very happy camper. :-( Especially when you're traveling, it's important for both parties to agree on where, when and how to go, and where and when to stop.
It was pretty hot here yesterday, (I had 91 deg. on my thermometer at one time), so Jim and Linda didn't do much. Jim took a little bike ride in the morning, took the garbage down to the dumpster, talked to Louise for awhile, and put out my awnings.
The awning thing is getting to be a joke. Jim puts them out in the morning so that they shade me from the hot sun, but then in the afternoon, it storms so he has to roll them back up again. I know that some people leave them out all the time and tie them down, but Jim doesn't feel comfortable doing that, and just worries about them while they're out in a storm, so...... he does what he feels he has to do.
Speaking of that, yesterday afternoon, Jim cooked a couple of small steaks on his grill for dinner, and no more than he and Linda were done eating, the skies started looking black, so he went out rolled up the awnings. It's a good thing he did because within about 10 minutes we had some really strong gusts of wind and lots of rain again.
In fact, I just checked Jim's rain gauge and we had another 1.6 inches of rain yesterday and last night.
Oh, do you remember me telling you that there were 20 or so RVs coming into the park this weekend for a Rally? Well, they didn't show up!!!! Yep, you read that right. No phone call or anything. They just didn't show up!!!! Can you imagine scheduling a rally at a CG, (even a small rally), and then not showing up or calling the CG to tell them that you changed plans???
How rude is that!!!! Needless to say, Louise was quite upset with the group, and I doubt if she'll ever agree to have them back again.
I'm sure that all of you are aware that Sunday is Father's Day, and you want to get good old dad a present, but did you know that there are more than 14,000 hardware stores and over 23,000 sporting goods stores where you can get him that perfect gift?

Enjoying The Peace And Quiet, Jenny, and Today's Plans
Unicoi, TN
63 deg. mostly cloudy, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 85 deg, partly sunny, light winds. 40% chance of t-storms.
Not a whole lot happened around here yesterday. Jim dumped my tanks again and checked my fluid levels and tires. Then, in mid afternoon, he took a little nap.
Meanwhile, Linda was going through old camp ground receipts and papers and organizing them so that the information can be entered into the computers. For whatever reason, they've gotten really far behind with entering the info, (They have information at almost every CG that they have stayed at since before they went full-timing,) and now it's going to be a pretty big project to get caught up.
The rest of the day was spent just enjoying being in this CG with all the trees, birds, and peace and quiet.
This morning when I started this blog, I found that one of Jim and Linda's friends, Jenny, had left a comment. In the comment she said that she lived close to Unicoi, and was wondering if Jim and Linda would have time to get together with her. Well, it doesn't look like it will work this time, but I know that Jim and Linda would love to see her again, and I'm sure that when we get back into this area again, Jim will be sure to give her a call and make some plans to get together.
Today, Jim has planned for us to get somewhere North of Knoxville, We could either stay at the Escapees Park up there, or there is also a nice sounding State Park a little farther North. I think it will depend on the weather and driving conditions to determine how far we'll go.
Did you know that June is "National Accordion Awareness Month"?

CLT's New Tire and Thank You Very Much
Apex, NC
64 deg. cloudy, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 91 deg. partly sunny, SW wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
CLT (Cute Little Truck) hadn't said anything to me, but evidently he's been having a little problem lately. It seems that while driving down the road, there has been a kind of thumping sound coming from his left front tire. Of course, Jim was hearing it too, and after checking the tire and finding a very irregular wear pattern on it, he decided to take CLT to a tire store that Mike had told him about.
So..... yesterday morning, CLT and Jim headed to a Discount Tire store up in Cary, NC, where Jim bought CLT a new tire and had it installed and balanced. Now, CLT says that when he drives down the road, everything is nice and smooooth, and there's none of that thumping noise. :-)
The rest of the day was real quiet around here. Jim took a little bike ride, he and Linda both took naps, and then about 5:00 CLT took them to Mike and Gina's again. Then, when they got back here it was TV and computers again until bedtime.
Since I don't have a lot to write about this morning, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who follow my blog every day. (I now have 23 "Official Followers). And, since I've had the "hit counter" (about 18 days ago), there have been over 1,500 views or "hits" of the blog!!
Folks, to me that's amazing!!!!!
I know that many days, I don't really have anything of importance to write about, we haven't been traveling very much lately so there's nothing new there, and many days I just ramble on about the normal things that Jim and Linda do. So,,,,, I can't imagine why so many people find my blog interesting.
But,,,,,, evidently you do, and I want to thank all of you very much for following along with my adventures and taking the time, from time to time, to write a comment or two.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! :-)

All Straightened Out and A Comment On A Comment
Virgina Beach, VA.
42 deg. clear, N. wind @ 6 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 64 deg. sunny and breezy, with NW wind @ 15 to 20 mph.
Good news!!! The pharmacist at the Walgreen's here in Virginia Beach got Linda's prescriptions straightened out!! He called the Walgreen's in Deltona, FL. where Linda had taken the scripts from the doctor, and told them that there should be another prescription for Linda that was not on the computer. Well, they went through that days scripts and found it! Evidently someone had missed it and had not entered it. So, they put it into the computer and then the pharmacist here was able to fill it. The whole process took about 1/2 an hour, but now everything should be OK. :-)
After finishing at Walgreen's, CLT took Jim and Linda to a bank where they got some extra cash to have with them while we travel. When we're traveling, most all businesses take credit cards, but once in awhile you need cash. So, they've found it best to have a fairly large sum of money along.
I keep it nice and safe for them in my built in safe. :-)
For dinner, Jim and Linda went into the house and ate leftovers from the great meals that Nancy has prepared the last few days. There was plenty for everyone, and Jim and Linda both said that it all tasted very good. Then, after eating, they visited with Joe and Nancy for awhile before coming back out here and watching TV until bedtime.
Yesterday, Paul and Shirley left a comment on this blog. In the comment, they said that they liked my blog and wish they had the nerve to start one of their own.
Well, I'd like to encourage them and any other of my readers to go ahead and start one as soon as possible. I found it was very easy to do with Blogger. I think most people are afraid that they won't be able to think of things to write about, or they don't think what they write about will be interesting to the readers.
When I started this blog, it was strictly to inform family and a few friends about our travels, and to let them know where we were. You see, every time Jim or Linda talked to them on the phone, some of the first questions were, "Where are you now?" and "What have you been doing?" So, to keep everyone informed, the blog was started. It also turned out to be kind of like a Journal for Jim and Linda to look back on, to see what happened on certain days or in certain places.
It really makes me happy to know that other people find it interesting as well, and I really enjoy it when people write and tell me that they do. I know that what I write doesn't appeal to everyone, but that's OK. It was never meant to
As for what to write about, many times when I fire this computer up in the morning, I don't have the slightest idea of what I'm going to say. I just start with where we are, (I don't know why anyone cares, but they all seem to ask), the weather, and then go on to what happened since I last posted. Once in awhile, I come up with funny or strange things, but most times I just write about our adventures, or in many cases the lack of adventure. If things go wrong or right, I write about that, If something bothers me, or I'm worried about something, that's included. And if Jim takes some photos, I try to include some of them also.
So, go ahead and start that blog. You don't have to post every day. Just write about what's happening in you life. And, when you do start the blog, be sure to send me the info on how to get onto it, so I can follow along. :-)

Anticipation Or Anxiety?
Orange City, FL
46 deg. mostly clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 76 deg., mostly sunny, E. wind ! 5 to 10 mph.
When you are getting ready to go someplace new, or do something that is different, do you have anticipation or anxiety?
For instance, I know that some of you that are reading this, will be heading to the RV-Dreams Rally in South Carolina, and it will be your first Rally. Are you anticipating going? Are you excited? Are you looking forward to meeting all the new people? Are you eager to get there so you can learn more about the full-timing lifestyle? Are you looking forward to joining in on all the fun you've heard about?
Or....... do you have anxiety about going? Are you a little worried about the whole Rally thing? Are you concerned about meeting all of those people who have been out there RVing forever? Will they look down on you because you don't have a big rig suitable for full-timing or worse yet, don't even own an RV yet? Will you fit in? Will the seminars go right over your head? Will you understand what they're talking about?
My guess is that you're having a combination of anticipation and anxiety.
Why am I bringing this up, you ask? Well, I want to try to put your mind at ease. Almost everyone that will be at the Rally has had some of the same feelings that you are having. Many have been to a lot of Rallies, but others have not, and some have not been to any Rallies, even though they have been RVing or even full-timing for quite a while.
As you probably know, the RV-Dreams family is one of the friendliest groups around. They help each other on the forum, and chat room, and believe me, they're the same in person. All are eager to meet you and are more than willing to talk to you and answer any questions about RVing that you may have. Howard and Linda are great people and have made their seminars interesting and easy to understand, and if you have questions they'll be glad to help you find the answers. You will meet people that may end being you friends for life. And, I can almost guarantee that you'll have a lot of fun! ;-)
Oh, and you know what? Many of them have "been there and done that", so they know how you're feeling about going to your first Rally.
Today, Linda has to go to her doctor to get her prescriptions renewed. Like most other people, she's not looking forward to it, but knows it's necessary.
Other than that, I don't think anything special is happening today.
Oh, Laura was busy yesterday, so she and Linda will go get those slacks some other time.
Did you know that on of the meanings of the word "Rally", is "A Get-together of hobbyist or other like-minded enthusiast primarily to meet and socialize"?
Sounds like the RV Dreams Rally to me!!! :-)

Yet Another Good Day With Good Friends
Frostproof, FL
40 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast today = high temp. 71 deg. mostly sunny, NE wind @ 5 to 10 mph.
Today, I thought I'd post a photo the Jim took of CLT and me parked in my site here at the Southern Pines Resort. There aren't too many trees in the park and so most of the sites are very sunny. The sites are nice and level, and I think almost all have a nice cement patio. One of the biggest draws of this park are the very friendly people who stay/live here. Everyone seems really nice and waves and/or says hello when they go past my site. Oh, another thing that you don'[t see in a lot of parks is the number of people who ride bicycles here. Almost every RV has a bicycle or two sitting near it and there is always someone riding past.
About 8:30 yesterday morning, Jim called Roland and told him that the coffee was ready, so in a few minutes, he rode over on his bike and he and Jim sat out on the patio and drank coffee and talked for a couple hours.
Oh, and he also looked at my newly re-upholstered couch and chairs and really seemed to like them. :-)
After lunch, Roland and Louise both came over to visit for awhile. Louise hadn't seen my couch and chairs yet and she also seemed to really like them. :-)
For dinner, Roland and Louise came back here to eat, and Jim cooked some brats on hes grill that Roland had brought over earlier, while Linda cooked some asparagus and put together a fruit salad. After dinner, they talked again until about 8:00. By that time everyone was starting to get tired, so Roland and Louise headed back to Big Herb.
Yet another good day with very good friends. :-)
One of my readers, (John), asked to see a photo of my new window awnings. Well, I don't have a photo handy, but my awnings are made by Zip Dee and the fabric was replaced with the standard Zip Dee fabric that was ordered from the factory up in Illinois. It is exactly the same fabric that my main awning is made of. The window awning fabric was replaced because the material was getting very worn out and some of the stitching was coming apart.
Did you know that the city of Frostproof, FL. was so named as a marketing ploy to try to attract citrus growers to the area? It was only a few years later though, that a severe frost killed most of the citrus in the area.

He Found One, and Comments
Hammond, LA
42 deg. partly cloudy, NW winds @ 6 mph.
Forecast today = high temp. 59 deg. partly cloudy, NW winds @ 10 to 15 mph.
Well, Jim found someone to bring me a new tire. He's supposed to be here about 8:00 this morning to put it on, and then depending on the time and how Jim feels, we may still head down the road after that.
Two readers of this blog made comments about yesterday's post. One, (Judy and Emma), wanted to know why I didn't let Jim know that I had a problem with the tire. Well, the quick answer is, I didn't know there was a problem. There was no vibration or any other indication that there was a problem with it. Believe me, I sure would have let him know if I had known. I don't want to end up in a ditch someplace, and that could have been a real possibility.
The other reader, (Froggi Donna) http://2takinga5th.blogspot.com/ suggested that Jim call "road service" to find a tire shop. Well, to be honest, I don't think Jim even thought about that, but I'll bet he remembers in the future, if the need arises.
Thanks, both of you, for your comments.
Oh well, everything wasn't lost yesterday. Being that we weren't traveling, Jim and Linda got to watch the football play-off games on TV.
Now, if that tire guy only comes when he's supposed to.
Did you know that Louisiana has the tallest state capitol building in the United States? It is 450' tall with 34 floors.
